BLAKELY RYAN THOMPSON
She entered the world on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 8:29 AM
She is absolutely the most perfectly beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life and my heart is bursting at the seems with love for this little girl!
Ryan and I still can't believe she is actually ours! We find ourselves just staring at her constantly, amazed by our baby daughter!! I can't even begin to put into words how much we absolutely love and adore this baby! (She's sleeping in my arms as I type this one handed becasue I just can't seem to put her down!)
Here is her story:
I woke up around 1am Monday morning, May 15th with some stronger than ususal contractions. (I was actually sleeping on the couch because I just couldn't get comfortable in bed). I kept having the feeling that I needed to go potty, but I never could. Then, my contractions seemed to be getting even stronger, so I began timing them. Once they started coming about 3-5 minutes apart, around 3am I woke up Ryan and called my doctor. He said, "Congratulations! You're having a baby today." At that point it actually hit me, and I started crying from the excitement and reality of it. We said goodbye to the kitties and made it to the hospital around 4am. When the nurse checked me, I was dilated to 5cm and she said I had a bulging water bag (meaning it could burst any second). She ordered my epidural, but the anesthesiologist was stuck in the OR with a woman giving birth to an almost 11 pound baby! He finally made it in around 6am to administer the epidural, and at that point I was dilated to 8cm and after the nurse checked me, we heard a pop and my water broke. Game on! By 8am we said goodbye to the bump and kicked everyone out of the room because I was fully dilated and ready to start pushing.

They immediately put her on my chest for some skin to skin while daddy cut the umbilical cord. After an hour of staring at her and letting her nurse, Ryan and the nurse weighed her, gave her eye drops, a shot, Ryan got to put her first diaper on, and he got her footprints on his scrub top.
Baby got her first bath and loved it!
And then we brought everyone back in to meet her

We were moved to our postpartum room at 11am where we had more visitors

and then the following day, Blakely passed her hearing test with flying colors
and we were told we could leave!
so they brought us our last meal which was steak and lobster, and then we dressed up our baby to go home.

The difference in just 5 months- Whoa!

all loaded up and headed home
I had to document the matching bands when we got home before cutting them off.
She's officially ours!
Blakely is the most perfect little miracle and I just stare at her constantly thinking how blessed we are to have her! In an instant she made us a family, and we love her more than we ever imagined possible.

I love your story! I'm so excited for you guys and I can't wait to watch Blakely grow up. Congratulations on your perfect little family!
