Lilypie First Birthday tickers

5.01.2012

36 and 37 weeks!

we have had a busy couple of weeks here and we are so glad that baby has held on for us to get some things finished up.

here's a glimpse at what we have been up to:

my old man had to get glasses.
i think he looks hot!

Ryan plays on 2 soccer teams, so we have been going to lots of soccer!
he is somewhere in the above pic with his Liverpool team, and he is in the center of the back row in the pic below with his Hedes FC team.

on the baby prep front, we have been super productive in the nursery and it is looking so good!
here is a little peek:

i also made up a bunch of homemade salsa to bring to the hospital. one of the nurses during my hospital stay a few weeks ago made a passing comment about the mom not being the only one that is hungry in the hospital (since you can't eat anything until after you deliver), especially the nurses that are on the night shift. that comment stuck with me, so i decided that we were going to bring a little something for them while we're there. i made up a bunch so that our visitors could also have a snack.

i found this recipe on a food blog a while back, and have been inhaling it ever since.
here's the recipe for super easy and DELICIOUS homemade salsa:

Ingredients:
1 carrot
1 can of tomato sauce
2 cans of Ro-Tel tomatoes
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. salt
1 T. sugar
Lime juice
1/4 of bunch of fresh cilantro

Directions:
Peel and cut carrot into 1 inch slices. In a blender put hunks of carrot and tomato sauce. Blend until carrot is in tiny pieces. Add all other ingredients and blend until mixed, but not totally a liquid.

And now onto the belly!
here we are at 9 months- we made it!!

and here is the growth of a belly, ahem baby,  over the past 9 months:

and because i am behind, here is this week's belly pic at 37 weeks:

Ryan surprised me with this blanket to complete her bedding set. it was deliveed to Blakely from daddy. so sweet!

at our last appointment, her HR was 146 and i was up 25 pounds. she is still measuringa little small (the size of a watermelon!), and i am still dilated between 2 and 3. we have our 38 week appointment tomorrow, and i am hoping we will have progressed some more. i still have quite a bit of schoolwork left before the semester ends next week and a few more things in the nursery, but i wouldn't mind if this was my last belly pic ;)

at this point, we are just waiting on a baby!

  1. Ok first of all, the nursery is beautiful! It looks like a magazine! Next, you're full-term!! Yay! You look amazing and I'm so jealous of your 25 pound gain.

  2. Thanks so much!! It has been so much fun! And don't be jealous, she is measuring small so we want her to pack on some weight!

  3. Why didn't Ryan get transition glasses that turn into sunglasses when he goes outside? And why didn't he get a neck strap?
