last friday we headed to Norman for our favorite little boy's FIRST birthday party! we got in town just in time for Ryan to enjoy some free happy hour at the hotel bar, and then we headed to one of our favorite spots for dinner, Zio's (where Ryan officially asked me to be his girlfriend 6 years ago). after dinner we went to BJ's Brewery for a pazookie (of course) and then back to the hotel.
we were awoken by a marching band at 8am! on saturday because apparently there was a race going on in the Embassy Suites parking lot??
we met up with our friends, Lance and Rachel for lunch at another one of our favorite Norman spots, Bison Wiches. they are also expecting their first baby (a girl!) in July, so we brought her a little Easter basket.
and Lance brought us a bottle of wine he brewed himself! this is his new hobby, so i can't wait to try it out in a few weeks :)
it's clearly not a chardonnay, he just re-used this bottle. it's a pinot noir, my fave!
we had some time to kill, so we walked around campus corner
where Ryan found Blakely this adorable cheerleader outfit that apparently "she just had to have"
and then we walked around the stadium and reminisced about all the fun games we saw/played there
Blakely came to!
Ryan snapped a pic of his old practice field where he spent way too many hours back in college:
and then we headed to our old neighborhood where we were living when we first met.
this is Ryan's old house, which sadly, is now ran by drug dealers we hear...
hard to tell, but cardboard covers the windows, and they have a new door since the cops busted out the old one in a drug raid.
and this is my old house just a street over from his:
no exciting stories here
but far cooler than our old houses is Bob Stoops' new one being built:
we found a Moe's!
so naturally, we had to eat there for dinner.
and then it was time to PARTY!
Caitlynne did so good decorating and making everything perfect for P's first birthday.
it was an adorable big red ball theme, and it turned out really cute!
the birthday boy waiting so patiently for his cupcake:
he looks so big here!
he started getting a little sleepy, but i think this is really sweet because it reminds us that he is still a baby!
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST ADORABLE LITTLE TODDLER!
when i got to work on monday,
i found this basket full of goodies on my desk from a sweet resident:
she is clearly a mom because she included a childproofing kit, first aid kit, and neosporin. i love it!
and our chandelier finally came in!!
her room is coming together, and looking more and more like a nursery! i will post some pics after my next shower when we get the rest of the necessary items (you know, like a mattress and changing pad)
and now, watch as my belly grows before your eyes!
i am now EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT already!
i know this is how it works, but i just can't believe it happens so quickly. when you first find out you're pregnant, you think 40 weeks sounds forever away. and then you wake up and you're
EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT!
baby Blakely will be here in a matter of weeks. WEEKS. this is crazy! we are getting so excited, we can't stand it. i want nothing more than to meet our sweet baby girl and kiss every little inch of her! but i'm not ready for her just yet. we still have tons to do in preparation, and she still has some growing to do.
at our 32 week appointment, we are still measuring small (29 cm) and her heartrate was 133. i had no weight gain since my last appointment at 30 weeks, and he estimates that she is weighing just under 4 pounds and measuring around 17 inches long. one cool fact is that she now has blue eyes. actually, all babies at this point have blue eyes. who knew?
oh, and good news! she is now head down.
no more handstands for me.

I love the chandelier!! Also, thanks for taking pictures at the party. We didn't do a very good job of that and I definitely stole a couple of yours.
ReplyDeleteYou're looking so good! And you're almost done!! I can't wait to see her sweet face.
Thank you! I can't wait for you to meet her :)
