i am now in my 30th week of pregnancy!
at our appointment on wednesday, we got back my glucola result from my test that checks for diabetes. my result was 79 which the doc said was perfect. yay for that! we also discovered that baby's heartrate was 143 and i am up 20 pounds. whoa baby-- we are getting big!
i can't believe we have less than 10 weeks before we get to meet our sweet baby girl!! time is seriously flying by, and we are getting more and more excited by the second.
i think i am also feeling a bit of anxiety about all that we have left to do, and probably what's ahead (ahem, pushing out a watermelon and then having to protect it from harm and raise it to be a decent human being) since i had a crazy scary dream last night.... i was at a water park with Danee and we were sliding down the slides, when we hit a big bump. i feared that it may have harmed the baby so i kept poking her to make her move, but she never did. my belly just hung there limp, i just knew that something was wrong. i woke up all sweaty with both hands covering my belly...
i am such a worry wart!
so now that baby is in her thirtieth week, here is what she is up to (according to baby gaga):
the fine lanugo hair that covers her little monkey-like body will start falling off this week in preparation for the big day, and your little porker is getting even cuter with increasingly pudgy arms and legs, thanks to her ever-growing layers of subcutaneous brown fat. your big ol' baby should be weighing in at around 3 pounds 12 ounces (or more!) and be nearly 16 inches long!
now that i am getting bigger, i have started getting comments and belly rubs from strangers. last week a girl said, "whoa, you must be due any day!" i laughed and said, "um, i'm only 30 weeks, so i hope not!" i mean, if you can't laugh at yourself...i have a husband who will.
see for yourself:
if i haven't mentioned it enough, baby girl is super active! in fact, it seems our little one is moving every which way, but the way she is supposed to. i would think she would be head down by now. instead, she is laying transverse (sideways across my belly). well, the only way to get a transverse baby out is by c-section, so we will see what she decides to do in the next few weeks.
until then, i will be standing on my head...
