rafting, rivers, and rocks... oh my!

sue and jerry were back in town this weekend, so we went to a few more fun places! we started friday off in canyon city where we rafted the arkansas river.

i look special, i know.

after we rafted, we drove out to the royal gorge. but since it was SO expensive to get in, we just tried to get a picture. it didn't quite turn out, but trust me, there is a huge gorge down there.

that would be a looooooooooong fall.

then we headed to the seven falls in colorado springs.

it is hard to tell, but this waterfall is actually 7 falls combined (hence the name):

then we hiked up the two hundred and something teeny, tiny stairs to the top of the waterfall.

we found this little creek that starts the waterfall:

there were lots of cool formations in the rocks, like the one at the top right. it was called

"wrestling bears"

our gorgeous sunset on the way home:

on saturday, we went to red rocks again. this time we toured inside and out, and it was really cool!

this is the amphitheater carved into the rocks. they have awesome concerts here and in the summer, they do a movie on the rocks. we have to go!

then we went to golden. they were having 'buffalo bill days' which was alot of fun. there were quick draw races in the streets and a big carnival.

we found a cute park, had a picnic lunch, and watched a bunch of people tube down the river.
