so last night for dinner we went to Texas Roadhouse. we dine there frequently because of their $9.99 steak dinner and their delicious rolls with cinnamon/honey butter.
i kinda drooled a bit just thinking about it.
they also have yummy peach margaritas and huge sweet potatoes. but enough about the food... it's making me hungry.
when we were walking into the restaurant last night, ryan recognized a truck in the parking lot that belongs to a guy he works with.
coincidentally, that guy ended up sitting at the table behind us.
he was there celebrating his son's b-day, and ryan actually told the waiter about said b-day without them knowing. she proceeded to bring out the old saddle on a wooden stool, and made the poor kid pretend to "ride the horse" while they sang happy birthday to him...
i know this humiliation because ryan actually did this same thing to me on my 21st b-day...
which i did not oblige.
but while we were waiting for our food to arrive, we noticed a neighbor slash friend of ours walk in the front door with an older lady.
i thought he was on a blind date or something...
but after they were seated at their table, we went over for a quick "hello" and were introduced to his mom... not a date. but his mom was really sweet and kept trying to recruit me to come work for her. i thought it was amusing since i haven't really been pursued before.
not like that anyway ;)
we went back to our table and while we were eating, his mom came back over to give me her business card. she said she was not joking about the offer and that she really wants me to consider coming to work for her because she
"likes my charisma"
ha!
i wasn't quite sure how to take that, but i thanked her and finished my meal. not long after our plates were cleared, our waitress came back with another round of drinks and said they were sent to us from another table.
that sneaky old lady... now she is trying to bride me?
oh, she's good!
THEN, our waitress says, "not only that, but the table behind you already paid for your meal AND added a generous tip... so, you guys are good to go!"
holy crap! that never happens...
i guess it pays to know people.
either that, or to have charisma!
