When I heard the first tiny whimper come from Blakely's room, I ran upstairs singing "Happy Birthday" to my little (big) girl! And the second we got downstairs, she immediately noticed the mound of donuts awaiting her at the table. She started kicking and squealing with excitement and I just knew she would love them.
So I stuck her in her highchair and lit the candle. She kept saying "hot" as I tried to sing "Happy Birthday" once again, so I just let her at them.
She mostly just licked a couple of them and smushed them in her hand.
But then she got the gang of it, and I eventually had to tear her away and fight her for a bite!
Happy birthday, sweet baby! I swear I won't wake you up like that forever. Only until you move out... Mommy loves you!
