i absolutely LOVE the holidays!!
the smell, the food, the comfort of family and the cooler weather.
I just love it all!
we actually woke up to some snow on the ground this morning. yay!
so speaking of holidays, this Thanksgiving we went to Chad and Ashlee's house.
i made some little turkeys for all the kiddos.
i didn't have any candy corn, so i improvised and used starburst for the feathers:
then i stuck them into double stuff oreos with a little melted chocolate:
glued another oreo to the bottom, and propped them up to dry:
added whoppers for the heads and reeses cups for the bodies:
again, i lacked some ingredients so i made eyes and a beak with rolled starburst:
then drew some feet on with orange icing. i accidentally got the "gel" kind
of icing so it was not quite the effect i was going for:
but it worked, and it was fun. next time i need to remember to get some
red icing for the gobble gobble thing and some wings.
i also brought this yummy shrimp dip that everyone always loves.
and i love it cuz it's only three ingredients!
- cream cheese on the bottom
- cocktail sauce over the cream cheese
- and tiny shrimp on top
then dig in with fritos
YUMMY!!
i had a few "helpers"
we recieved this super cute and DELICIOUS cake from nothing bundt cakes
here in mckinney. this thing was seriously good!!
we put the tree up this weekend and the kitties love to sit underneath it:
we made our drop off box for toys for tots at work. we kind of went all out
and it took forever, but it was fun.
we made a HUGE paper mache snowman that's as tall as me!
isn't he a cutie?
we are still going to add some arms and maybe bling out his buttons or something...
we can't stop.
